Behind every illustration there’s a study and we have to make choices.
This will make the result unique.
Some days ago, we spend all the evening (and part of the night) thinking about some illustrations. We are working on Poseidon, Narcissus, Ade and others.
Mythology is a very interesting topic and it is very well-known.
On the other side, it’s one of these topic that you never stop to learn. For example, talking with a facebook group about mythology, we are discovering a lot of beatiful story regarding Gods and Myths.
Going deep on the topic, everytime that we took a decision about an artwork, it always seems that we are “loosing” something: some particoular or some aspect that we could explain better with the artwork.
We are sorry about it, and we start to try to find solutions to say everything…
At the end, we always conclude that we cannot say everything also because the illustrations have to have specific limitations and characteristics in order to fit with the game and with the general graphic. We need to make choices and to exlude something.
This could be seen as a limit, but I think it’s also an opportunity because in this way, we can find a way (our way) to talk about mythology throuhgt choices that make this way unique.
We hope to make it and we hope that you all like the results!
Just for curiosity, attached the study made for Athen; sorry for the notes in Italian!
